Should I help him or should I let him be? I have asked myself this question many times. The point where I would intervene is getting closer and closer and I still have not made up my mind. I need to make up my mind soon. You would think all my wisdom would help me make up my mind. He is almost home.
Well, I have made my decision. I am going to help Odysseus. Finally, he is home, now I can work my magic. I have been itching for some action ever since we finished with the Trojan War.
I have informed Odysseus of what he has to do to protect not only himself but also his family to. If the suitors figured out his identity now it would put Penelope and Telemachus in danger. If he and Telemachus don’t follow my plan exactly, things could go terribly wrong. My ignorant brother, Ares, is in my ear saying, “What’s with all the planning. Lets just go in and kill those stupid people.” Same thing I heard during the Trojan War.
Telemachus completed the first part of the plan. He hid all of the weapons. Now is when Penelope will figure out Odysseus’ identity. Her test is simple but many have failed. Odysseus is the only one who can pass the test. Once he passes the test he will gain her full trust but she will be angered at him for hiding in his own home. Yes, he completed the test and as I predicted she is angered but trusts him.
Odysseus has started the battle, he has shot the suitor who started all of this. The other suitors think that he just had a lucky shot! They are to wrapped up in thinking that they are superior to him because of his appearance. They shall soon regret the teasing and beating of the poor man that Odysseus was presented as, by the work of my hand of course. Now that they know his true identity they are begging for his forgiveness. They are saying that he killed the one that made them do this and that they will leave. Not that he will let them.
The battle is over and it was a very interesting battle. It went from arrows and swords to hand to hand combat, which my brother was happy to watch. Though he is still complaining about all the planning, so annoying but hey, he is my brother, I am never going to get him to stop complaining. I have completed my task in helping Odysseus. Now he can have a happy life with his wife and son and put his country back together. Now I must go back to Olympus and search for something to fill my time with.
